If you enjoy a spot of bird watching then why not treat yourself to a holiday to the Serengeti in South Africa. The Serengeti has over 500 species of birds, so you will not be disappointed with the different birds you can see when on this type of safari holiday.

In Seronera area right in the middle of the park, the grey-breasted spurfowl is among the common roadside birds. IF you fancy spotting the flocks of Fischer’s lovebird, then you may need to head towards the forest areas.

If you chose to visit the Serengeti from November through to about April you are mostly likely to see some of the migration habits of many of these species. During this time the local resident species are also nesting, so you can have the opportunity to see how and where they chose to nest. Another place to visit to do a bit of bird spotting (that you may not have considered) is Arusha National Park. It offers a huge variety of habitats that host an unbelievable list of about 400 species within its tiny area.

As with any bird watching holidays, you have to be patient but with such a wide range of birds on offer, you will be sure to have an amazing experience.
